Ability in Motion (AIM) Who we are: AIM is a social service agency located in Manhattan, Westchester, and Connecticut. AIM has been providing employment, psychological and vocational assessments, and placement services for over 3 years. What we believe: We believe that persons with disabilities can obtain and sustain employment with the help of supports in the different phases of the employment process. Our philosophy: Outcome is what matters. People and progress is critical. Choice determines commitment. Empowerment is its own reward. What we do: Our agency assists individuals with disabilities in finding employment. We are committed to helping employers screen potential employees and learn how to work with people with disabilities. At present, we are successfully assessing clients, providing pre-placement services that include basic education (math, English and reading) geared towards employment, placement and follow-along services. Services include:
Employers who work with individuals from AIM are able to access work incentives when they provide jobs. These incentives are in the form of tax credits and can be as high as $8,000 per individual, depending on how long the individual is employed. We also offer "work tryout" periods for individuals and employers to take advantage of. This allows an employer the opportunity to evaluate an individual's on-the-job performance and potential at no cost.
